Sapulpa Rural Water Company is committed to ensuring the safety and quality of your drinking water. as required by the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), Sapulpa Rural Water regularly collects water samples according to the DEQ scheduling.
Bacteriological (Bact -T) : 7 samples per month.
Stage 2 Disinfection Byproducts: 2 samples every quarter.
Lead & Copper: 20 samples every three years.
The next round of Lead & Copper sampling was originally scheduled for 2025. However, due to miscommunication, Sapulpa Rural Water believed the samples were due in 2026. As a result, the requred sampling was not completed in 2025, and Sapulpa Rural Water Company is now requred to notify customers of the oversite.
It is important to note that the presence of lead and copper in drinking water is typically related to the types of pipes and plumbing materials used in water mains or private household lines. Sapulpa Rural Water Company does not have or use any lead connections or pipes in its system. Furthermore, in all previous rounds of Lead & Copper Samping, Sapulpa Rural Water has never recorded levels exceeding regulatory limits.
To address the missed sampling, Sapulpa Rural Water Co. will conduct the Lead & Copper test in 2026. We appreciate your understanding and remain dedicated to providing safe, high quality water to our community.
